Now that spring has truly sprung, we think there’s no better time to give your socials some TLC!
Here are our clever consultant's and coordinator’s top tips on how to spruce up your social account.
A question we commonly get asked as marketers and key operators in the digital space, is how to tackle trolls and negative commentary. Whether it’s a Google review, a comment on a social post, or even a dislike on your latest YouTube masterpiece - you can’t please one hundred per cent of people one hundred per cent of the time (trust us - we’ve tried!).
While it’s not as exciting, why not assess your page settings, and even your page roles? More often than not you may find that a past employee is still an admin, and making sure that relevant employees have access that applies to them!
Social media constantly evolves over time with different trends and new features. Look over your past social posts and identify what has performed well and what hasn't performed as well. Compare and analyse those that have performed well, is there a pattern? For your next set of posts focus on creating more of what has performed well and get creative.
Make sure to go through to update your social page details, such as your descriptions, opening times and even the page banner.
Don't be afraid to be genuine. Many small business owners are modest and don't like talking about themselves but it's the stories from "you" that make you stand out from the crowd (and your competitors). So if you haven't told the story about why you started your business or shared your smiling face on your social platforms for a while then jump to it - people don't always like to be "sold" to, but we always love a story we can resonate with, it's human nature. If you get good engagement on it then stop and smell the roses (it's spring after all) and try to incorporate more genuine stories that contain first-person accounts about your business into your social posts... you could even share a story about your dog who helps with product inventory!
