Andrew came across what he previously called the ‘Blue Tier Escape’ for sale while browsing a real estate website, he was an anaesthesiologist by trade but he knew the property offered something special, something that he wanted to share with others so he bought the property perched upon a 650 metre rocky pinnacle overlooking Tasmania’s North-East in 2019.
The place was a way for people to reconnect and rediscover themselves in a remote and luxurious setting. Andrew wanted to know how he should go about pursuing this as a business, so we guided him from the very infancy of this now well-known and lusted over accommodation venue.
With a background in tourism we knew that The Keep had all the elements needed to become a successful accommodation venture, it just needed an emotive story and solid creative to help communicate its value to a wider audience.
‘The Keep’ has attracted domestic and international media coverage and has been published in the AFR (Australian Financial Review), Sydney Morning Herald, Outback magazine, Get Lost Magazine, Condé Nast Traveller and across respective Tourism Australia and Tourism Tasmania platforms.
Their original opening social media competition attracted an impressive amount of engagement and interaction. Boosting their followership on Instagram from a few hundred to 8,000 and to 12,000 on Facebook over the course of two weeks.
Most importantly they have experienced between a 70-80% occupancy rate since opening.
It’s not until you see the end product that you realise how involved the process to get there is. Kingthing were professional, approachable, knowledgeable and always available. I just can’t rate them highly enough.
